What Is NeoGraft?

NeoGraft is one of the many tools available for follicular unit extraction (FUE). NeoGraft FUE is an automated/motorized device to harvest individual hair follicles during an FUE treatment), dramatically increasing the accuracy and speed over manually selecting and extracting individual hair follicles.

What Is the Cost of FUE and NeoGraft?

Costs can differ — that is why it is difficult to find an exact estimate for how much this procedure will cost you. However, the cost of a NeoGraft FUE procedure does not vary significantly by the tool or device used. At The Hair Transplant Center – Fort Worth, we rarely perform manual FUE techniques because of the number of tools available for FUE from Alphagraft to NeoGraft. No matter what instrument is used, the cost is comparably similar.

FUE/NeoGraft vs. Linear Harvesting

Results between NeoGraft FUE and linear harvesting are similar. Consequently, FUE procedures produce grafts that contain mainly one, two, three, or four follicles called “follicular units.”

Even so, during strip or linear harvesting, follicles are removed from the back of the scalp and then microscopically dissected into grafts of one, two, or three follicles, which would also produce similar follicular unit grafts.

Provided that in each procedure, the grafts are implanted with the utmost care, skill, and precision into the recipient area, the final results with FUE would be similar (if not identical) to those obtained with a linear harvest. The difference is not in the area of hair growth, but in how the donor area is harvested either by a strip of skin on the scalp or by small individual follicle extractions.

Overall patient reviews have been amazing with the FUE technique, leaving no linear scar on the donor area. Most of all, patients are surprisingly pleased with the speed and efficiency of the FUE systems such as NeoGraft.

What Are the Side Effects and Complications of FUE with NeoGraft?

There are some possible side effects that you should consider before undergoing a NeoGraft hair transplant. Don’t worry, because Dr. Thiele will discuss these drawbacks with you before the day of your hair transplant.

Like any procedure, the risk of infection is the primary concern. However, we provide several steps to help minimize or nearly eliminate this risk. Also, there is very minimal pain as some of our patients can return to work more quickly.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Procedure Using FUE or NeoGraft FUE?

NeoGraft FUE Fort Worth

The NeoGraft is unique in several ways among the tools used for FUE. However, like any tool, the skill of the hair transplant surgeon is as important as the instrument. NeoGraft FUE allows us to produce natural results. Despite every scalp being different, we aim for perfection but results may vary due to several reasons including medical conditions like diabetes, any physical strain the day after the procedure, and so on.

While some require only one treatment, others require several treatments to obtain full restoration. The number of treatments will vary depending on the patient’s hair type, scalp response, and ability to complete a certain number of follicles in one procedure.

At The Hair Transplant Center – Fort Worth, we do not charge a flat fee that penalizes you if we are not able to hit a certain number of follicles. Rather, we only charge you for the follicles we can transplant. It delivers significant cost savings over what others may offer.
